So it's been a few weeks..

and I am surprisingly doing well. The internship and prints have been going better, I have yet to complete a movie but I am hoping to get that off the ground come July.
I am moving from one studio to a different one across campus, so that means packing up all my stuff, deciding what to take home and what to keep in studio and then clearing out the old studio. (Out date is July 7th) which means that moving will be taking up my week until after the 7th.

Here is a new piece, I hope to have a few clips to post come the 8th.

Slowly but surely..

things are getting done. The rainy weather in June has put a hold on my filming plans since it is supposed to be snowing up north, but I have been getting a few Prints done. I hope to have a schedule set up by monday, something to give me more structure.

I'm trying to let spontaneity into my summer but it feels like I'm at my computer for most of the time so that limits my options. I think in a week or two I shall take a vacation, and set of to find some inspiration.

The First of June

Well, I've had my second meeting for the internship and have decided after a few hours of work that I'm going to finish reading things and then call it a day!


I don't know if its this crazy wether but I am beat!

Update! Up Late!

Well, I have been rather busy these last few days. ON Tuesday, I was in an interview for an unpaid internship for a local entertainment company. And well….   I GOT IT!!! So I have been working on my responsibilities there. And doing some editing on my movies.

I hope to post some new Prints tomorrow. As for what I've been working on I''m afraid I can't really post anything except to say that it is ROCKIN' and that I'm having tons of fun and working hard!

Well, It seems that google will not let me post images or video, so I will take my leave for tonight and try again tomorrow!

Dwelling Place-concept

The original concept for this work has unfortunately not made it into an usable application.

The original plan was to use a doll house and combine it with video, which would be projected into the backing fabric. The video would play as people/images inhabit the rooms and what not. But the specifics in set up and the overall video/object interrelation just is not working even though I've tried my best. So it's onto something that will work!.

The Book-2011

Capturing images and creating video that means something to me, personally, has been a big motivator behind my recent work. In The Book, I've used my great grandmother's Bible as the back drop upon which different images, that have to do with my faith and what it means to be a Christian in modern day times, plays over the turning pages. The Bible is more than a memento it is almost a scrap book, showcasing family history and the things my Great Grandmother (Nana) stored between the pages.

Here is a shot of the object (book stand) I constructed for this piece, as well as the layout for a catalog spread.

The stand is blank, the video is projected on the white surface, creating a book made of light and sound.

So this is an installation shot of my work, the tree like image and another graduate Mikko Lautamo. (The colorful side/and more in focus.)
I purchased a small projector LG 201 it's light compact and has LED lights instead of light bulbs. After Mikko's praise of it I knew I needed to get me one and it has been wonderful for my work.

This image/still is from Magdelene2011, which is a video piece that I have been working on over the last year and a half. The concept behind it was the idea of meeting someone and have your life be changed by it. Before and After. For me this is expressed best in the meeting of Mary Magdelene and Jesus. All we really know about Magdalene is that she is one of two people who were present for all three major events in the New Testament. Jesus' ministry, his death and his resurrection. All the Bible says is that she was possessed by 7 demons and that after meeting Jesus she provided for him and His disciples with her resources.
Its was interesting to have her be this mysterious figure and yet she must have played a big role in the early church.



Well the work that has gone on this semester has been mostly behind the scene with very little to post about.  But I'll be posting more about my recent work and transferring over images and what not from the other blog as the week moves on.  It's school based and deleted at the end of the semester which is one reason for the long gaps between posts. I tend to post on one or the other, but this one is officially dubbed the main one and will be where I focus my writing and social networking skills.
