The Book-2011

Capturing images and creating video that means something to me, personally, has been a big motivator behind my recent work. In The Book, I've used my great grandmother's Bible as the back drop upon which different images, that have to do with my faith and what it means to be a Christian in modern day times, plays over the turning pages. The Bible is more than a memento it is almost a scrap book, showcasing family history and the things my Great Grandmother (Nana) stored between the pages.

Here is a shot of the object (book stand) I constructed for this piece, as well as the layout for a catalog spread.

The stand is blank, the video is projected on the white surface, creating a book made of light and sound.
